I wanted to share a little more of what has been happening behind the scenes, especially as Botanical Republic continues to grow and evolve. I turned 50 this year, and my skin has been going through its own transition. It became drier, a little thinner, a little slower to recover. Products that used to work beautifully suddenly felt too harsh or simply ineffective.
If you are in your 40s, 50s, or beyond, you may recognize that moment when your skin starts asking for something different. That moment was the beginning of my deep dive into how to create formulas that truly support aging and hormonally changing skin.
Why I Decided to Reformulate
Over the past year, I have been testing new plant-based ingredients on my own skin to understand what genuinely helps without overwhelming it. I brought every question, every challenge, and every result to our cosmetic chemist. Together, we re-examined our formulas with a fresh perspective, asking ourselves how we could elevate them so they work even better for mature skin.
Some ingredients were increased. Some were replaced. Some were added because the science behind them has become too compelling to ignore. Every change had a purpose. You will feel the difference in texture, absorption, hydration, and overall performance.
A Personal Commitment I Won’t Compromise
One thing I want to be very clear about is this: formulating for mature skin requires more than “anti-aging” claims. It requires understanding how hormones shift and how certain ingredients can either support or disrupt that balance.
That is why we avoid ingredients known to interfere with hormones or trigger irritation. It is why we lean heavily into nutrient-dense oils, botanical actives, and plant-based alternatives that offer real benefits without compromising long-term health.

I am excited to share that several of our products have been upgraded and refined. These updates were made with intention, patience, and a lot of testing. Next month, you will start seeing these updated formulas roll out, and I truly cannot wait for you to experience them.
This chapter of Botanical Republic feels very personal to me. It grew out of my own skin concerns, my own hormonal changes, and my desire to create skincare that adapts with time instead of fighting against it.
